The word "diamond" encapsulates many things, but here at Diamond Liners, Inc. our favorites are "value" and "toughness."

To us, value means providing the hard-working professionals of the spray foam and coating industries with the best equipment, education, and service they can get.

To us, toughness means more than the diamond-tough, industrial strength polyurethane, hybrid, and polyurea coatings. The resilience and symbolic commitment of a diamond is reflected in all aspects of this long-successful, family-owned and operated chemical spray application sales and service provider.

Diamond Liners, Inc. was founded in December 1990 by John Bender and his father, Houston Bender. The company quickly became established as an industry expert and bed liner market leader. In 1995, the company expanded from bed liner installation into manufacturing and distribution of equipment and chemicals.

Today, Diamond Liners is owned by John and his sister, Danette Bender, with John's daughter Tiffany playing a key role in the company's future. The Bender family has collectively operated a family business since 1924. Even after all these years, Diamond Liners continues to reflect the Bender family's lifelong commitment to exceptional customer service, industry expertise, honesty and a "can-do, will-do" attitude.

Eric Hauth, M.S. Executive Director, International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI)

www.icri.org
EricH@ewald.com

ICRI had its origins at a World of Concrete seminar in February 1988, during which attendees voiced their frustration about the lack of standards and guidelines for concrete repair. They also expressed their concern over the proliferation of unqualified contractors entering the industry. These contractors were not properly trained in concrete repair and were underbidding them without proper knowledge of surface preparation, equipment, materials, techniques, etc.

In response to these concerns, the International Association of Concrete Repair Specialists was formed, with a formal organizational meeting in Naperville, Illinois, May 21, 1988, attended by 66 repair specialists. In 1993 the name was changed to the International Concrete Repair Institute.

The organizing members agreed on the following statement of purpose:

To improve the quality of concrete restoration, repair, and protection through education of, and communication among, the members and those who use its services.

The philosophy of the group is that if the quality of work is improved and purchasers of repair services feel that they are obtaining a durable product, the demand for their products and services will increase and the image of the concrete repair industry will be elevated.

The founders also insisted that all classes and categories of membership be treated equally. Initially, it was to have been a contractors organization, but the immediate interest of engineers, manufacturers, and others in its formation and success made it obvious that it should be open to all. Every attempt is made to ensure equitable representation with the ICRI Board of Directors and committees made up of members from all disciplines and all geographical areas..

Our mission is to continue to deliver world class innovative solutions to our customers, solving their toughest protection, rehabilitation and insulation challenges.

Polyurea protective coatings are commonly used for the following reasons:

  • Abrasion Resistance

  • Corrosion Protection

  • Waterproofing

  • Chemical, Environment or Atmospheric Resistance

  • Decoration

  • Structural Enhancement

For decades, traditional materials such as paint, epoxy, fiberglass and vinyl esters have all been used to perform these various types of protective coating applications.

Polyurea coating technology is not new. In fact, it has been around and in use for almost three decades now. Polyurea is newer and more advanced than these traditional coating systems, and offers many advantages to the owner, specifier and contractor.
